GRANTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS

Financial awards will be granted in support of the following:

1) for educational scholarships to families and/or individuals to defray the cost of private deaf education tuition;

2) to help fund innovative deaf education programs or services provided by established deaf educational institutions;

3) for the purchase of assistive technical devices (ie. Digital hearing aids, FM systems or Cochlear Implants to name only a few) to directly assist hearing impaired children communicate.

Advocates for Deaf Education (ADE) seeks to support all forms of educational programs focused on educating hearing impaired children. This includes, but is not limited to, Total Communication programs, Oral Programs or Sign Language based programs. Each child is unique and no single program will meet the needs of every child. We aim to help any hearing impaired child regardless of communication form.

Click here for FINANCIAL GRANT APPLICATION REQUEST FORM (Acrobat Reader Needed) FOUR (4) COPIES OF THE COMPLETED APPLICATION MUST BE MAILED TO THE FOLLOWING:   ADVOCATES FOR DEAF EDUCATION   OHIO VALLEY CHAPTER   ATTN: GRANT APPLICATION   2047 BERKSHIRE CLUB DRIVE   CINCINNATI, OHIO 45230   NOTE: Failure to provide four (4) copies of the application and/or omission of any of the necessary information will result in $0 being granted - NO EXCEPTIONS. Effective with the February 06 Grant Period, new information will be required in order to successfully request funds from ADE. Specifically, a parent or guardian will be required to submit the application and a copy of the family's most recent 1040 form-tax return must be submitted in order to better assess financial need. TIMING: Financial Awards will be granted two (2) times per year: MARCH and SEPTEMBER. For consideration for the March Awards - applications must be received by February 1st. For September awards - applications must be received by August 1st. An organization/individual can only benefit one (1) time in any given twelve (12) months period. Your requests will be thoughtfully evaluated.
